It promises transformation, just as butterflies change from state to state. The red parrot demands passion for life.
HARE BRAINED (2009): A play on the brain coral and hare in this work describe my relationship at the time. Two entrapped parrots, along with words lifted from my dream journal, point to that which needs resolving.
IT’S TIME TO DREAM ANOTHER DREAM (2009): The spider weaves a dream catcher. The crow oversees the proceedings, encouraging trust of intuition. A rainstorm in the distance promises rough weather but also cleansing. The butterfly fish realizes she’s better off alone. The mask of the devil lover fades as a new dream is born.
THE SECRET (2009): The hummingbird reminds us that, once the heart heals from pain, it must open again. The yellow rose promises new beginnings. The chickens hint at the enlightenment that is to come, as they greet the light of day. The crow knows that the pomegranate’s abundance will come to those who choose to begin anew and open their hearts after deep hurts.
WITCH’S BROOM (2009): This work evokes the ritualistic purification of a witch’s broom, with the brilliant colors of tropical flowers, plants, and coral performing the cleansing task. The rooster stands vigilantly, ready to call to action.
